If you are visiting from Instagram, you might recall hearing this song in some posts, or me shortly writing about it.
Nuvole Bianche, which in English means White Clouds, is one of the most important songs in my life for it has helped me out in the worst times, but has also in the best. This to me is more than a song, or a title, it is a companion that follows me everywhere and reminds me that I am not alone in this funny thing we call life.
Scientifically speaking, clouds are a collection of water drops or ice crystals forming in the sky. Personally speaking, clouds are a small reminder of how united we all are and should be – given that no matter where we are, we all share the same sky. While we all live extraordinarily unique and different lives, we are the same in the aspect that we all are just people trying to figure ourselves and life out. The traveling journal I have been writing in for the past couple of years is filled with stories and experiences that reflect this idea, and how at the end of the day we are one – and as I finally start to share these stories, another goal of mine is to remind everyone to live and let live.
Live – Unless you believe in reincarnation or some type of after life, we all have one chance to live our best life possible and it is crucial to let yourself be free and taste every possible experience life has to offer you – whether it is positive or negative. One of the biggest realizations I’ve had as a young woman, is that our own neighborhoods are just as potentially dangerous as any foreign country or different city may be. Unfortunately, us women will always need to be more alert of our surroundings, but we should never let it come between our passions and wanderlust. This goes out to everyone: do not fear what is outside of your home, your city, or your country – take that plunge you've been waiting to take and go explore! At the end of the day, everywhere is dangerous in its own different ways.
Let Live – We are all imperfect human beings - everyone has had both highs and lows. When traveling, whether to a new city or new country, talk to that person sitting next to you on the bus, a coffee shop, or wherever you may be. Remember, stranger does not always mean danger. Wherever you may be travelling or commuting to, get to know as many people as you can, listen to their stories – and when you do so, make sure to do it with an open heart, mind and be free of judgement. You do not need to travel to a whole different country to learn about other people, new life lessons, and to gain new eyes. While most of my stories will come from being abroad, I have also become enriched emotionally and mentally from simple talks with strangers – small stories I will be sharing more of soon.
